MEET
KRISTIN LAU, MD
Dr. Lau was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and then moved to Arizona as a small child. She grew up in North Phoenix and graduated high school from Xavier College Preparatory.
She received her Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Northern Arizona University. There she earned such honors as Cum Laude and served as President of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Dr. Lau obtained her medical degree from The University of Arizona College of Medicine and received honors in the specialty of Family Medicine.
Dr. Lau then returned to Phoenix for 3 years of specialty training in Family Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Banner Good Samaritan and served her final year there as Chief Resident.
Dr. Lau was the first physician to join Desert Ridge Family Physicians and looks forward to creating meaningful long-term relationships with her patients. While she enjoys treating all patients and health issues, Dr. Lau has particular interests in women and children’s health as well as chronic disease management.
Outside of work Dr. Lau and her husband spend most of their time playing with their two sons. She enjoys traveling, playing cards, reading and attending sporting events.
Dr. Lau was honored by US News and World Report when she was named as one of nine Top Doctors in Family Medicine for Phoenix in 2012.
Dr. Lau has been honored multiple times when selected as one of Phoenix magazine’s Top Doctors for Family Medicine in their annual list of the Valley’s best physicians. She received this honor in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.
